QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Responsibilities

  • Understand company Mission, Vision, and Values and be an ambassador of MVV.
  • Manage multi-state sales, use, and CAT tax compliance, filings, and payments
  • Oversee property tax filings, assessments, and related compliance
  • Support business licensing, renewals, registrations, and programs
  • Research tax regulations and monitor nexus across jurisdictions
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax laws, including sales tax compliance
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize organizational efficiency and minimize liabilities
  • Lead audit support and respond to notices from tax authorities
  • Improve tax processes, controls, and systems
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on tax treatment and compliance matters; provide guidance and training to team members on best practices
  • Support tax technology enhancements and process automation initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary adjustments to processes
  • Compile and organize financial data needed for tax reporting, compliance work, and internal file maintenance
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to support strategic decision-making processes
  • Conduct accurate, efficient, and timely ad hoc analysis to meet the needs of management
  • Adhoc Support

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in general accounting or finance with emphasis on sales/use/corporate/property tax; experience in warehouse/manufacturing preferred
  • Thorough understanding of sales tax, use tax, excise tax, CAT tax, best business practices, GAAP accounting principles, and Full Cycle Accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, etc.); advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience; Oracle/NetSuite preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and results driven
  • Advanced verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Adaptability, technical competence, and collaborative mindset
