Purpose: The Curriculum Specialist for English Language Arts (ELA) provides leadership and support for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the district's K–5 literacy program. This position ensures alignment of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS) and district goals. The Curriculum Specialist collaborates with school and district leaders to promote high-quality literacy instruction, improve student achievement, and ensure equitable access to effective instructional practices and resources across all elementary schools.
