Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Accounting Clerk II based at our Greenville, NC Headquarters office.
The Accounting Clerk II is an entry-level, transactional accounting role responsible for supporting accounts payable processes. This position focuses on high-volume vendor invoice processing, data entry, and validation of invoice information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities include vendor invoice processing, discrepancy resolution, and expense invoice batch auditing. This role utilizes multiple systems including SAP, SRM, Open Text, and PRMS. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow defined procedures, and a focus on maintaining internal controls and processing accuracy in a high-volume environment.
What You Will Do:
- Processing, Data Entry & Validation
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently in accordance with established procedures
- Perform detailed data entry and validation of invoice information ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Ensure all required documentation is complete and properly maintained
- Meet established productivity and accuracy metrics
- Discrepancy Identification & Resolution
- Identify missing, incomplete, or incorrect invoice information
- Escalate discrepancies or exceptions to appropriate teams for resolution
- Systems
- Utilize multiple financial and workflow systems effectively (SAP, SRM, Open Text, PRMS)
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity within all systems
- Audit, Compliance & Controls
- Follow established internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Ensure invoices are processed in compliance with company standards prior to posting
- Maintain appropriate documentation to support audit requirements
- Support internal and external audit requests as needed
- Continuous Improvement/Project Support
- Identify opportunities for improving process efficiency, accuracy, and workflow
- Support assigned process improvement initiatives, testing, or documentation updates
Who You Are:
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in a high-volume processing environment
- Able to perform repetitive, process-driven tasks with consistency and precision
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Able to follow standard procedures while recognizing and escalating exceptions
- A dependable team player who contributes to a positive and efficient work environment
- Demonstrates accountability for accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work with a strong focus on internal controls and operational efficiency
What You Will Need (Education):
- Education: High school diploma with 3-5 years of experience in an Accounting related field; or a 2-year Accounting degree with 1-2 years of experience, or a BS degree in Accounting with no experience.
- Experience: Relevant accounting and financial operations experience based on education level. Experience working in high-volume transaction processing environments is a plus.
