Gas Intern (Temporary Part-Time)

Starting Salary: $14.00 - $20.00/hr.

Brief Description:

Under general direction and supervision of the Gas Distribution Engineer, the ideal candidate will assist in engineering duties associated with the gas system. Candidate will assist with performing various analyses of the gas system utilizing present network analysis software; working with engineering and operations staff on the design and code compliance of the gas distribution system; and assisting staff with the planning and execution of projects for the gas distribution system, liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility, compressed natural gas (CNG) facility, cathodic protection and supervisor control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and assist with special projects as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Under and including one year of experience
• Enrolled in a four-year BS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• A valid driver's license

Job Duties:

• Assist with engineering and construction design duties related to the gas system
• Assist with the preparations of specifications and bid documents.
• Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of bid awards
• Assist with Project Management duties on projects assigned by Gas Distribution Engineer.
• Assist with engineering review of consultant submittals; Interacts with contractors on material pickup and other project inquiries
• Performs other duties and assignments as required

It is expected that the position will require a minimum of 12 hours per week, with flexible scheduling available.
