IT Support Specialist I/II
Salary Range: $49,836.80 - $89,273.60 Anticipated Hiring Range: $49,836.80 - $73,444.80

Job Summary:
Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC) Information Technology Department is seeking a highly motivated and passionate person who wants to work in a fast-paced Information Technology role to provide tier 1 and tier 2 support to other GUC teammates. Daily duties will include but are not limited to: Providing specialized software and hardware technical support to a diverse range of departments, which includes hardware/software installations and upgrades, and problem diagnosis and resolution. Experience with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 application suite is required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills as well as outstanding oral and written communication skills. This is a full-time position working with the IT Help Desk. Salary commensurate with education, training & experience.

Job Requirements and Duties:

The successful candidate should have experience or working knowledge in the following areas:
  • End-User Technical Support
    • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to GUC employees.
    • Deploys and Troubleshoots hardware, software, peripherals, and basic connectivity issues.
    • Support Windows 11, Apple iOS devices, and Microsoft 365 applications.
    • Provide routine break/fix support for IP phones and basic telecommunications issues.
    • Supports audio/visual and conference room technology.
  • Ticketing, Documentation, and Asset Tracking
    • Uses the ticket management system to document, assign, track, escalate, and resolve requests.
    • Monitor phones, emails, and ticket queues to ensure timely response.
    • Follow standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and help improve documentation as needed.
  • Communication, Teamwork, and Professional Expectations
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees, IT staff, and other departments.
    • Work effectively in a team environment.
    • Demonstrate attention to detail, sound judgment, and a positive customer-service attitude.
    • Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Microsoft SCCM or similar endpoint management platforms
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • BitLocker or similar device encryption tools
  • IT asset management systems
  • Microsoft 365 administration or advanced application support

IT Support Specialist I
Salary Range: $49,836.80 - $77,272.00 Anticipated Hiring Range: $49,836.80 - $63,564.80

Minimum Requirements:

  • Over one year of experience

  • Associate's degree in computer science, computer operations, or related field

  • Valid Driver's License

IT Support Specialist II
Salary Range: $57,616.00 - $89,273.60 Anticipated Salary Range: $57,616.00 - $73,444.80

Minimum Requirements:

  • Over three years of experience

  • Associate's degree in computer science, computer operations or related field

  • Valid Driver's License

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM
Position requires on-site attendance; this is not a remote work position.
