Position Summary

The Community Doula serves as a trusted advocate and support person for pregnant and postpartum patients enrolled in the HEAR (Healing, Equity, Advocacy, and Respect) for Mamas & Babies (H4MAB) program. Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team, the Community Doula provides relationship-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed support throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.

This position focuses on patient advocacy, education, navigation, and connection to healthcare and community resources while promoting informed decision-making and helping patients navigate complex healthcare systems. The Community Doula partners closely with providers, nurses, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and community organizations to ensure patients understand their care plans, feel empowered to ask questions, and receive coordinated, respectful care.

The Community Doula does not provide medical care or clinical assessments but serves as an essential liaison between patients, families, healthcare teams, and community resources.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma, equivalent, or higher

At least 2 years of experience working within maternal-child health programs, community health, public health, or healthcare settings.

Knowledge of community resource networks and social determinants of health.

Experience supporting underserved, rural, or high-risk populations.

Doula Certification - DONA International preferred. Additional doula certifications will be considered: CAPPA, ProDoula, National Black Doulas Association, MaternityWise, or another nationally recognized organization

Pay Range

$18.00 - $25.74
