Position Summary

The Public Health Epidemiologist is responsible for the Infection Prevention and Control Program, developed to control the spread of infections and/or outbreaks. Track and monitor transmissible diseases and notify local, state and federal authorities about reportable diseases as required

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Medical Technology, Epidemiology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related Allied Health Science field is required.

Master's degree in applicable field, such as MSN, MPH, MPA, MaED, or MS required.

If BSN/MSN - Must hold current compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina is required.

If BS in Medical Technology - Must hold current generalist/specialty certification by a nationally recognized board/agency is required.

More than 5 years of relevant experience in acute care hospital or similar
required. One year of Infection Prevention experience, preferred.

Certification in Specialty within 3 - 5 years and recertification as applicable.
