Under supervision, the Ophthalmic Photographer performs ophthalmic photography and diagnostic services. Tests, measures and takes images of eye function to assist Ophthalmologists diagnose and treat eye disorders and disease. Will also assist all duties of an Ophthalmology technician as needed.
Minimum Requirements- High School or higher plus specialized training is required.
- 5 to 7 years of experience.
- Must have 2(+) years of related experience, of which one year must be as an Ophthalmic Photographer with experience in retina.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in diagnostic testing, including but not limited to: ultrasound, OCT, Godlmann and Hunphrey visual fields, A and B-scan, Corneal Topography, Corneal Pachymetry, and Heidelberg Retinal Topography.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from a Joint Commission for Allied Health Personnel (JCAHPO) approved institutional course preferred or working towards obtaining certification.
