Architectural design of new construction and renovation projects throughout the ECU Health system.
Coordinating architectural and engineering disciplines projects.
Coordination of bid documents including drawings and specifications for projects throughout the ECU Health system.
Assist in coordination of the ECU Health systems compliance with life safety, building code and licensure requirements.
Provide architectural design and consultation assistance to ECU Health system entities.
Maintain JCAHO Statement of Conditions for all ECU Health entities.
Provide supervision of cooperative education staff.
Perform other duties as required to provide a safe and effective Environment of Care for our patients, visitors, and employees.
1. Architectural design of new construction and renovation projects through the ECU Health system.
Planning, design, cost estimation, and Life Safety analysis. Coordination of governing building codes, state licensure, and JCAHO guidelines. This work is accomplished through
consultation with and coordination of user groups, in-house and outside design professionals, reviewing agencies, and contractors.
2. Coordinating architectural and engineering disciplines projects.
Review and analyze construction documents prepared by outside Architectural and engineering design consultants.
Consultation with outside architects, engineers, contractors, and facilities maintenance and engineering personnel in the development of projects for all ECU Health facilities.
3. Coordination of bid documents including drawings and specifications for projects throughout the ECU Health system.
Coordination or production of construction drawings and
specifications suitable for obtaining bids on ECU Health projects.
4. Assist in coordination of the ECU Health system's compliance with life safety, building code and licensure requirements.
Consult with the Safety Department. Track N.C. State Building
Code requirements and changes. Develop Life Safety Plans.
Provide review and analysis in our department's assessment of the JCAHO Statement of Conditions including Basic Building Information and Life Safety Assessments. This includes plan and functional review of our existing facilities as it relates to requirements for JCAHO licensure.
5. Provide architectural design and consultation assistance to ECU Health system entities.
Consulting with ECU Health entities to help facilitate design, construction, and renovation of their facilities.
Providing schematic design drawings, renderings, and facilities analysis reports.
6. Maintain JCAHO Statement of Conditions for all ECU Health entities.
7. Provide supervision of cooperative education staff, internship staff, drafting personnel and engineer technician staff for the office of Facilities + Properties.
Assign and supervise staff projects.
Accountable for quality of staff work.
Perform employee performance appraisals.
Facilitate staff development through consultation, education, mentorship and other assistance as needed.
8. Perform other duties as required to provide a safe and effective Environment of Care
College Degree (4 yrs) - or higher.
Architecture license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within one year of employment or more than 6 years
Architectural design of healthcare related projects and Construction Administration.
