Job Description

Position Summary

The Employee Relations Consultant I supports the work of the Employee Relations team by serving as a witness for employee relations cases, preparing effective case notes, and providing administrative support to the Employee Relations team. Assists with team member relations investigations and reporting; establishes rapport with team members and encourages open dialog and communications between team members and Human Resources.

Responsibilities

Facilitates positive relationships and communications between team members and departments, through various means, such as attending meetings, having one-to-one communications, and generally being visible and accessible to colleagues and staff.

Adopts a mindset of continuous improvement and commitment to enhancing service delivery to customers.

Actively participates in team huddles and meetings. Provides updates and feedback in a positive, professional manner. Communicates concerns through appropriate outlets with a focus on mutual respect and understanding.

Cross trains to ensure working knowledge of various tasks within the department in order to back-fill and/or provide support to teammates as needed.
Monitors employee relations cases in Service now, serves as a first point of contact to team members and managers who enter cases, connects the cases to the appropriate person.

Provides support to the team member relations team to ensure team member relations cases are processed and completed in a timely manner.

Provides support for the case log and follows up with team member relations consultants on ways to move cases through the steps of the process.

Helps to maintain a positive employee relations climate by encouraging team member participation in work place solution seeking and the team member relations process.

Coaches team members on positive communications with others and with department leaders.

Supports employee appeals process and grievance process.

Recognizes patterns and anticipates employee-related issues; Develops, recommends, and initiates appropriate steps for resolution in accordance with policies and procedures.

Supports Employee Relations leadership and Legal in conducting employee relations investigations or pending litigation.

Escalates complex Employee Relations matters to Employee Relations Leadership, Legal, or HRBP team as needed.

Assists with unemployment compensation cases and associated paperwork to ensure all cases are responded to on time and with accuracy.

Participates in the successful implementation of positive team member relations initiatives and retention strategies.

Reviews and provides constructive feedback on Corrective Action documentation and recommends the appropriate level of corrective action. Interprets Human Resources policies and procedures.

Collaborates with Corporate Compliance regarding HIPAA violations. Notifies manager of violation. Monitors corrective action taken.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's degree is required.

2 years of experience is required or a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.

Pay Range

$53913.60 - $78581.36
