Job Description

Position Summary

The nurse navigator provides individualized assistance to specific patients and their families in overcoming barriers to care, facilitating timely access to care, and providing education and support. The patients' trajectory through diagnosis, treatment, and after care will be seamless and coordinated in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Additional patient navigational needs may be assigned to this Navigator.

Minimum Requirements

Associates degree in Nursing is required.

BSN or MSN preferred

Current North Carolina nursing license is required.

3-5 years clinical experience for patient focus is required.
3-5 years in a hospital setting is required.

Certification for patient focus preferred or within 2 years of employment.

Membership in professional organization is desired.


Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Organized, can multi-task, analytical, time management
Work well under stress and be able to provide emotional support.
