Job Description

Position Summary

The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the Infection Prevention and Control Program, developed to control the spread of infections and/or outbreaks.

As an Infection Preventionist, you will:

  • Track and monitor transmissible diseases and notify local, state and federal authorities about reportable diseases as required.
  • Perform infection surveillance, maintain NHSN reporting, and analyze data to identify trends.
  • Review patient cases and provide recommendations to reduce infection risks.
  • Monitor hand hygiene and infection control practices; provide education as needed.
  • Develop, update, and ensure compliance with infection prevention policies and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct environmental rounds and infection control risk assessments, including for construction projects.
  • Report communicable diseases to public health agencies as required.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, participate in quality initiatives, and support action plans to reduce HAIs.
  • Serve as a resource for infection prevention practices and support staff education.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master degree in applicable field or higher is required.
  • 5 years or more experience in healthcare field
  • Certification in Infection Control preferred, required within 3 years & maintained thereafter.

Pay Range

  • $75,857.60 - $110,567.60 (annually)

Other Information

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm)
  • Availability to work remote one day per week as schedule permits
  • Required to work occasional On-Call
