Job Description

Position Summary

Maintains accountability for ECU Health's patient placement and bed operations. Assesses patients waiting bed placement and develops a plan for admissions and transfers. Communicates movement plan with necessary teams. Identifies system-wide issues or barriers and develops plan to mitigate unnecessary delays. Evaluates capacity status and works closely with leaders to develop strategies for enhanced capacity and throughput.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient waiting and develops a plan for admissions and transfers across ECU Health.
  • Continuously evaluates capacity, throughput and flow, communicating necessary information and actions as needed.
  • Initiates & communicates changes in capacity alert levels based on triggers and thresholds as outlined in the Capacity Management Plan.
  • Leads Operations team during mass casualty incidents in eastern NC to collect and communicate appropriate information to stakeholders in order to prepare for an influx of patients.
  • Collaborates with Administrators/ Executives to alert of active or imminent situations, escalate barriers to throughput, and assist in efficient capacity management.
  • Responsible for knowing the system's flow status at all times.
  • Collaborates with physicians, charge nurses, unit leadership, patient flow coordinators, transfer center staff, EastCare transport services, patient care coordinators, and others regarding patient throughput and flow across the ECU Health system.

Minimum Requirements

BSN required. MSN preferred.

NC RN license required.

Five years of clinical experience, with at least one year of management or leadership experience is required.

Evidence of progressive leadership qualities is required

Pay Range

$95680.00 - $131560.00
