Job Description
Position Summary
The Referral Coordinator - Access Center is a hybrid role within the Access Center that focuses on facilitating patient access to specialty care and services without performing general patient access duties typically handled in clinic settings. This position operates outside of the clinic environment and serves as a centralized resource for managing referrals, scheduling, and prior authorizations. The Referral Coordinator - Access Center ensures timely coordination of care by working closely with providers, payers, and patients while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and payer requirements.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or higher required
Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 2 years in healthcare access, referral coordination, or prior authorization roles.
Experience with EHR systems and payer authorization processes strongly preferred.
Proficiency in EHR platforms (Epic or similar), referral management tools, and virtual communication systems.
Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding, insurance requirements, and HIPAA compliance.
