Job Description

Position Summary

The Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) performs the triage function within the lab. As an MLA, you will check in all in-coming lab specimens and orders and determine the priority of the specimen and distribute written orders to the HSARs for registration and order entry. Will fill account supply orders and prepares and performs courier duties.

As an MLA, you will:

  • Prepare and perform courier duties.
  • Perform the triage function within the lab.
  • Check in all in-coming lab specimens and orders.
  • Determine the priority of the specimen and distributes written orders to the HSARs for registration and order entry.
  • Fill account supply orders and assist with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Graduate, Equivalent (GED) or greater is required.
  • NC Driver license required.
  • Previous clerical experience and/or lab experience highly preferred.

Other Information

  • This is a PRN, work when needed position.
  • Primarily Nights (11 pm - 7 am and/or 8 pm - 7 am)
  • Required to work other shifts and weekends (when needed)
