Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Student-Athlete Academic Services within the Office of Enrollment Services provides academic advising and support services to the university’s student-athlete population. The athletics program is comprised of 18 varsity sports, 7 men’s and 11 women’s. The academic services program is committed to supporting the academic progress of student-athletes and the achievement of their educational objectives.
Primary Purpose of Position
Serves as the primary academic advisor and success coach for assigned athletic teams. The position is focused on ensuring student-athletes remain academically eligible, make progress toward graduation, and develop the skills needed for long-term success.
Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Master’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and at least one year of experience working with students at the post secondary level; or will accept a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and at least three years of experience working with students at the post secondary level. Experience working within a team atmosphere. Qualifying degrees must be conferred by the time of hire.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Knowledge of NCAA requirements as they pertain to initial and continuing eligibility.
