| Organizational Unit Overview | The Interprofessional Clinical Simulation Program (ICSP) at the Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) provides access to simulation-based education for learners across the Health Sciences Campus and ECU Health Medical Center. The program collaborates closely with ECU Health Medical Center in offering educational activities to Graduate Medical Education, EastCare, and other hospital staff. The mission of the Clinical Simulation Program is to promote excellence in clinical care, promote patient and learner safety, and improve multidisciplinary team performance using simulation modalities. The ICSP is a fully accredited program by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. The ICSP is moving into a new 30,000 sq ft Simulation Center in the Center for Medical Education building in 2027. |
| Job Duties | The BSOM Interprofessional Clinical Simulation Program is seeking part-time Interprofessional Nurse Educators to provide interprofessional clinical, educational, and technical expertise in the development and implementation simulation-based activities. These positions will participate in, and facilitate, interprofessional scenarios with medical students, residents, and other providers from multiple disciplines. These positions will also instruct procedural skills within his/her field of expertise using task trainers. These positions will perform outreach to promote the BSOM Simulation Program’s regional capabilities and facilitate educational sessions as assigned. Individuals will work approximately 16 hours per week. These will be 12-month, At Will positions. Work Hours A typical day will be 8am-5pm. Occasional work outside normal business hours (8am-5pm) required. Occasional overnight travel is required for outreach and education sessions related to the mobile simulation program (1-2 days annually). Occasional work on weekends for special events (1-2 Saturdays annually). Duties of the position will include – Instruction (85%)
