About the Role
We're looking for an experienced General Ledger & Tax Accountant to own our core financial accounting, reporting, and tax planning. This is a great fit for a hands-on accounting professional from a manufacturing background who's ready to take ownership of the monthly close, tax compliance, and financial reporting — while also mentoring junior accounting staff.
What You'll Do
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
- Manage and maintain general ledger accounts and bookkeeping
- Reconcile inter-company balances
- Handle accrued expenses and amortization of prepaid expenses
- Account for fixed assets and construction-in-progress
Tax Management
- Manage and file various taxes and fees (e.g., sales tax, property tax)
- Apply for and maintain sales tax certificates
- Partner with tax authorities on inspections and support annual audits
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual comprehensive financial reports
- Consolidate and analyze company base data and reporting
- Coordinate year-end financial statement completion
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends; monitor budget execution
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve fund utilization; recommend improvements to cash/fund management
Leadership & Process
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members; support on-the-job training
- Partner with the Finance Manager to optimize financial systems and accounting workflows
- Assign, coordinate, review, and guide day-to-day accounting work
- Maintain strict security and confidentiality standards for accounting vouchers, seals, and files
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree or above in Financial Management, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of financial/accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing company
- Strong working knowledge of finance, accounting, and financial management practices; familiarity with tax and customs matters
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of economic law, relevant tax laws, and local regulations
- Strong communication and influencing skills, solid problem-solving ability, and a systematic, detail-oriented approach
- High integrity and discretion in handling confidential company and financial information
- Resilient, collaborative, and able to build trust across internal and external stakeholders
