Job Title: Storeroom Specialist
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Storeroom Supervisor
Pay Range: $16-$23 Based on experience

Purpose/Scope:

The Storeroom Clerk is responsible for requisitioning, receiving, and controlling parts inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner to help minimize machine downtime. The role works with technical resources, vendors, purchasing agents, and internal customers to identify parts needs, confirm availability, place orders, track delivery, and maintain accurate inventory records.

Essential functions include requisitioning, receiving, logging, organizing, and controlling Storeroom inventory; coordinating parts availability with vendors, purchasing agents, operations personnel, and technical resources; supporting cycle counts and inventory rotation; and communicating parts status clearly to internal customers.

Principle Accountabilities/Key Duties:

  • Work with technical resources to requisition parts when needed.
  • Receive and log in parts coming into the Storeroom.
  • A complete understanding of parts requisitioning through Oracle.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders when parts have been delivered or are beyond their expected delivery date.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control.
  • Order needed replenishment of Storeroom items, being mindful of budgetary constraints.
  • Partner with vendors to confirm parts availability and delivery dates.
  • Ensure that inventory is rotated, and that obsolete inventory is identified and escalated to immediate supervisor.
  • Provides training to employees to ensure proper utilization of the Parts Look-up System.
  • Ensure that annual cycle counting of inventory is done accurately, and on time.
  • Interface with suppliers to obtain quotes and bids for repair parts.
  • Assists operations personnel with finding, and/or ordering parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school of learning.

  • Must be able to successfully meet all training requirements as outlined in the skills matrix and job classification training plan.

  • Ability to work effectively with teams and individuals.

  • Ability to understand basic mathematical and currency calculations.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing parts distribution environment.

  • A strong understanding of inventory control.

  • Experience working with Oracle, SAP, and/or JD Edwards.
