Job Summary:

The On-Shift Technical Trainer serves as the dedicated, hands-on training leader for their assigned shift. This role is solely responsible for ensuring all training needs are executed, documented, and sustained for employees on that shift.

Working in close partnership with the Sr. Supervisor, Training, Manager, Team, Training Coordinator, and Employee Experience Business Partner, the On-Shift Technical Trainer ensures employees are technically competent, safety-focused, and fully prepared to perform their roles successfully.

This position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and workforce capability through structured training execution and follow-through.

Shift Training Ownership

  • Serve as the primary training leader for all employees on assigned shift.
  • Execute new hire onboarding training plans in partnership with the Training Coordinator.
  • Deliver hands-on technical skills training on equipment, processes, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ensure all cross-training, upskilling, and recertification needs are completed timely.
  • Validate employee competency through observation, skills verification, and documented sign-offs.
  • Maintain real-time visibility of training progress for the shift.

Operational Partnership

  • Partner daily with the Sr. Supervisor, Training to align on priorities, workforce readiness, and skill gaps.
  • Collaborate with Operations to understand production needs, staffing plans, and performance gaps.
  • Work closely with the Employee Experience Business Partner (EEBP) to support new hire integration, performance development, and retention efforts.
  • Coordinate with the Training Coordinator and EEBP to ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and system updates.
  • Attend shift meetings and operational discussions to proactively identify training needs.

Training Execution & Compliance

  • Ensure all safety, quality, and compliance training is completed per company standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records.
  • Support audits by ensuring documentation reflects completed training requirements.
  • Reinforce standard work and ensure training consistency across team members.

  • Identify skill gaps impacting safety, quality, productivity, or engagement.
  • Provide coaching and real-time feedback to employees during training.
  • Support performance improvement efforts through structured retraining plans when needed.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and accountability on shift.

Required Qualifications/Professional Experiences/Years of Experience:

  • HS diploma or equivalent GED
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in manufacturing operations and computer skills (including MS Office).
  • Strong knowledge of equipment, safety standards, and quality processes.
  • Effective communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to provide clear hands-on instruction
  • Minimum of 5 years of high-speed manufacturing experience and/or on the job training in incontinence manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications/Professional Experiences/Years of Experience:

  • Prior experience training or mentoring employees.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with training documentation systems / Learning Management Systems (LMS) – ETQ Preferred.
  • Internal qualifications of Manufacturing Tech 2 Mid / Cross-department equivalent or higher
